Lifter Bore Repair Kit

Don't discard an expensive engine block because of a damaged lifter bore! Scored or leaky lifter bores can be repaired with this sleeve kit. Lifter bore sleeves are also recommended for competition engine builders who "blueprint" the tappet bores.
Technical Notes: Drill the defective lifter bore to 1.044". Shrink the sleeve by cooling it to -40ºF and insert it in the lifter bore, making sure that the bottom of the sleeve is flush with the camshaft cavity. Drill a 7/16" hole through the oil gallery and finish the sleeve ID to .8432/.8442". The sleeve can also be predrilled with a 1/2" oil hole before installing it in the block.

Hydraulic Tappet (Roller)

Hydraulic roller tappets were introduced in production small-block and V6/90º engines in 1987. Hydraulic roller lifters improve fuel economy and performance by reducing internal engine friction. This lifter can be used with production and high-performance hydraulic roller camshafts.
Technical Notes: Hydraulic roller tappets are .63" longer than flat tappets. Hydraulic roller tappets require an induction hardened camshaft, special pushrods, lifter guides P/N 12550002, and guide retainer P/N 14101116. Hydraulic roller tappets should be installed only in 1987 and later production blocks designed for roller cams.
