Chevy Big-Block V8  |  Cylinder Head Gaskets and Bolts
 

Big-block V8 cylinder head gaskets are available in a variety of materials and thickness to suit different applications. When selecting a head gasket, keep in mind the engine's intended usage and the minimum piston-to-head clearance required. Note: Use Gen. V for 1991-92 usage.

This composition head gasket for aluminum cylinder heads has a compressed thickness of .039". It fits 4.250" diameter cylinder bores. LS-7 gasket.   Small Image

This competition designed gasket is for a bore (4.375" to 4.540") usage on 1991 and later "Gen V" Chevrolet big Blocks with aluminum heads. It is a preflattened wire ring. The nominal compressed thickness is .039", with compressed volume of 10.5cc. These are composition design gaskets.   Small Image
Technical Notes: This gasket is for "Gen V & Gen VI" engines only, (1) gasket per package. These gaskets contain stainless core for saltwater marine use. **Refer to Technical Note on P/N 14015351.

This competition designed gasket is for bore (4.250 to 4.370") usage on 1991 and later "Gen V & VI" Chevrolet Big Blocks with aluminum heads. It is a preflattened wire ring. This competition designed gasket is for a bore (4.375" to 4.540") usage on 1965-90 Mark IV Chevrolet Big Blocks with aluminum heads. It is a preflattened copper wire ring with permatorque/blue stripe coating. The nominal compressed thickness is .041", with compressed volume of 10.9cc. 12366984 Head Gasket 502ci      
This new head gasket is used with all Gen V & VI 502ci big-block Chevrolet design engines with cast iron heads. This gasket is the same as production, except it has an additional water hole opened for improved cooling of the siamesed cylinder walls of the 502 engine. The compressed thickness is .041". There are 2 gaskets in this kit, a left and right hand gasket.   Small Image

12367779 Bolt Kit, Cylinder Head      
This high quality cylinder head bolt kit has enough bolts to install either iron or aluminum heads. This kit includes eight of 7/16-14 x 2.08" short bolts P/N 12367331, 24 of 7/16"-14 x 4.06" long bolts P/N 12367330, eight of 7/16-14 x 5.06" extra long bolts P/N 12367329, and 40 of special hardened washers P/N 14011040. For single service replacement use part numbers above. These bolts do not have thread sealer on them because 502 engines have blind bolt holes. For all other big block usage, add thread sealer.   Small Image
Technical Notes: When you complete your engine you will have left overs because this is a universal kit for both iron and aluminum heads.

This beaded steel head gasket has a compressed thickness of .022". It is recommended for blocks with 4.250" diameter cylinder bores. LS-6 gasket.   Small Image
